World Class Quality Management

World Class Quality Management Definition

World Class Quality Management (WCQM) is a contemporary quality philosophy, policy, system, standards and practices that complement the design, development and delivery of customer-satisfying, high-value, defect-free products and / or services.

WCQM is generally comprised of the functions (quality systems, assurance, control, SPC, etc.), that in composite, help frame the achievement of built-in, not inspected-in, quality. When implemented well, such management systems pave the way to predictably achieving the customer’s expected results, the enterprise’s anticipated outcomes, and the organization’s desired performance innovations as inherent in all Lean Enterprise, World Class Manufacturing, and other such comprehensive performance excellence systems. Good examples of WCQM serve as benchmarks for competitors and can even permeate and advance quality execution in neighboring industries.
