Apply Lean to high mix / low volume fabrication operations.

Kaufman Global worked with this naval ship builder to progressively demonstrate ways in which Lean principles could be applied to a new construction environment. Starting with basic Lean training and Rapid Improvement Event facilitation, subsequent efforts leveraged internal resources to drive capability transfer. Defined work/run rules, 5S, visual systems, pull systems and materials management were some of the core methodologies employed to reduce overall cycle time.

“Lean implementation drove employee involvement and support in a very tough union environment.”
