KCG began working with Ingersoll-Rand in January of this year, utilizing a holistic approach that has yielded significant results. The winning site (one of several involved in the effort) was identified as the most improved in the corporation in 2001 from over 20 site applicants. This is a tremendous win for our client and for KCG!

The objective of the project is to employ lean manufacturing philosophies and techniques to transform culture, drive bottom-line results and provide a standard approach for continuous improvement. The initiative has multiple integrated work streams that include rapid improvement events (Lean Blitzes), work group involvement and metrics, streamlined product flow and inventory reduction, quality improvement and business process reengineering. The results speak for themselves:

• Over 30 Lean Blitzes conducted
• 100% of the organization is committed and approximately 30% of the workforce directly involved with specific improvement activities
• Focused and dedicated site leadership
• Realized savings in excess of $6 Million
• Annualized savings in excess of $10 Million
• Significant achievements in the area of safety
• 100,000 sq. ft of useable floor space recovered
