Kaufman Consulting Group (KCG) Is Now Kaufman Global

Indianapolis, IN, July 16, 2003 – Today the Kaufman Consulting Group, LLC announced that it has changed its name to Kaufman Global, LLC. The change is:
1. Part of a comprehensive re-branding effort focused on more accurately communicating the firm’s services to potential clients.
2. Reflective of Kaufman Global’s holistic approach to the process of implementing change initiatives within client organizations and is expected to help further differentiate Kaufman from the traditional strategy firms such as McKinsey, the Boston Consulting Group and others.
Changes in the market over the last few years have made it even more critically important for Kaufman Global to effectively communicate the value they are delivering to clients. “Our focus has always been on implementation,” said Jerry Timpson, President, “but only in the last couple of years has the market really started to broadly recognize the implementation niche. Clients are no longer focused on strategy; they are focused on accelerating change within their businesses in ways that directly affect the bottom line.”
A key differentiator for Kaufman has been their unique implementation methodology. It consists of a structured approach that is designed to sustain change within client organizations. “The thing we pride ourselves most on is that our approach contains a large component of client organization education and hands-on capability transfer,” said Roger Kaufman, Managing Member. “Our team members work side by side with our clients to set up the structural elements necessary to achieve the project objectives outlined in the business case. At the end of our engagement, the client has its own organizational resources fully educated in our tools, techniques and implementation methodology to sustain the achieved changes and build on the results.”
The name change was seen as a logical part of the company’s recent marketing activities as it more accurately represents the unique approach Kaufman takes to partnering with its clients. “Regardless of the initiative being implemented, [lean manufacturing, six sigma, lean office, etc] we look at all the ways the surrounding cultural, organizational, operational and financial environments of an organization will impact a project and those variables are integrated into the implementation process.” said Timpson. “Also, because we work collaboratively with our clients, the end result is an implementation plan that has the necessary management buy-in, a clear understanding of client resource commitments and a business plan to measure the success of the project.”
